HOW DO I HIRE GREAT COACHES?

OPEX Fitness CEO Jim Crowell Answers

Coaching is a profession. Unfortunately, it isn’t treated or paid in a manner that conveys that fact. This is largely due to the cultural stigma surrounding the profession and the proliferation of gym owners who don’t understand the value of loyal coaches.

If you want the best hire and keep the best talent in the industry, you need to provide a life cycle for the coach.

In other words, the coach needs to have an increasable pay structure based on their growth within your company and their value to your business. Without a long term play that encourages staff to remain, you are likely to experience low coaching retention.

So, set aside some time to put together a platform and a structure that allows employees to see tangibly their growth over time, and they will be bought into your system.

It really is as simple as showing coaches the money.

Not incentivizing your coaches is one of the five mistakes gym owners make. Learn about the other five below.
