Sport dives into functional fitness as a whole while explaining the core concepts and assumptions that Mixed Modal will operate under when referring to functional fitness. The two main topics covered in the Sport chapter are Sport Development and Athletic Development.
ENERGY
Energy, the second module in Mixed Modal, provides an in-depth look at how to create progressions for functional fitness training. The two major topics covered in the Energy module are Bioenergetics and the Multi-Limitation Fatigue Model.
PRACTICE
This module is broken into four sections—Assessment, Planning, Program Design, and Fueling—all specific to an athlete seeking maximum physical potential in competitive functional fitness.
From natural anthropometrics and athlete-specific fueling to planning all levels of competition and the nuances within, FitzGerald will take you through every aspect of working with a competitive athlete.
SKILLS
Skill, the fourth and final module in Mixed Modal, divides the skills within competitive Functional Fitness into three separate chapters: Cyclical, Loaded, and Unloaded.
Each chapter covers the functional volume, complimentary movements, non-complimentary movements, and how to program progressions for each. This module gives coaches everything they need to truly master the skills required for competitive Functional Fitness.
THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE COURSE ON COMPETITIVE FUNCTIONAL FITNESS
Mixed Modal will provide in-depth coaching principles and methodology for long-term athletic development in competitive functional fitness. The course will provide coaching theory, practical application, sample programming, and best practices for identifying an ideal path forward for an athlete, based on training age and history.
